Magnus Bergfors is part of the team covering Gartner's research on evaluating and deploying procurement and sourcing technologies, cross-industry and cross-technology. Solutions covered include spend analysis, e-sourcing, contract life cycle management, e-procurement, buy-side catalog management, supply base management and contingent workforce management solutions.
Mr. Bergfors has more than 10 years of experience in purchasing and supply chain management, more than half of this time spent in practitioner roles such as strategic buyer, category manager, e-sourcing manager and team leader for purchasing systems. Mr. Bergfors also has experience as a consultant both from a purchasing system vendor and from an independent consulting firm, where he headed the business area for purchasing systems.
Duncan contributes to Forrester's offerings for Sourcing & Vendor Management Professionals and for Application Development and Delivery Professionals. He is a leading expert on business application strategies and how to get the most from strategic software partners, including packaged applications, SaaS, and custom development. By researching enterprises' experiences in dealing with key software providers, such as IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP, Duncan helps clients create sound sourcing strategies, nurture better supplier relationships, and get better outcomes from their strategic software investments. He also advises software providers on pricing strategies and commercial trends.
Duncan is also a leading expert on ePurchasing applications, such as eProcurement and supplier risk and performance management (SRPM), with a particular focus on the increasing overlaps and conflicts between ePurchasing and sell-side B2B eCommerce. He advises clients on their application strategy in these areas, how to make good choices between alternative solution providers, and how to get the best results from implementation.
Mark O'Connell is a writer based in Dublin. His book "To Be a Machine" was published by Granta in 2017. "To Be a Machine" won the Wellcome Book Prize and was shortlisted for the Baillie Gifford Prize and the Royal Society Science Book Prize.
He is Slate’s books columnist, a staff writer at The Millions, and a regular contributor to The New Yorker’s “Page-Turner” blog; his work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, The New York Times Book Review, The Observer, and The Independent. He is also the author of the Kindle Single Epic Fail: Bad Art, Viral Fame, and the History of the Worst Thing Ever (Byliner/The Millions).
He has a PhD in English Literature from Trinity College Dublin, and in 2013 his academic monograph on the work of the novelist John Banville, John Banville’s Narcissistic Fictions, was published by Palgrave Macmillan. He was an Irish Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow from 2011 to 2012 at Trinity College, where he taught contemporary literature.

Currently he is the first ever Commercial Director in the unique surroundings of the City of London Corporation, with its over 800 years of trading history and its responsibility for the square mile and the City of London Police, the Barbican Centre, Tower Bridge and Hampstead Heath. Chris leads a 60 person strong department with responsibility for Category Management, Procurement Operations, Policy and Compliance, Accounts Payable, Contract Management, Commercialism and Responsible Procurement. This follows on from positions held at Accenture, London 2012, BiP Solutions and a range of Local Government positions in Scotland.
Chris is very much a results-driven leadership professional that leads from the front. He sees people as the key component of any successful operation and is a firm sponsor of mentoring, personal development and apprenticeships. The transformation of City Procurement has seen him being named as the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Management Professional of the year 2016.
David McClelland is a Journalist, Broadcaster and Technology Expert working across television, radio, print and online. His beat regularly includes mobile and consumer technology, cybersecurity, enterprise IT, social media and online safety. David is resident technology consumer champion for BBC1 Rip Off Britain, a regular in the ITV Good Morning Britain studio reporting on breaking technology news stories, and co-host of mobile gadget show Planet of the Apps for Challenge TV. He busts cyber-scams for BBC Watchdog and is a frequent contributor to BBC News Channel, Channel 4 News, CNN, BBC Radio 5live, Radio 4 and BBC local radio giving his take on gadgets and tech from around the world. David’s documentary work includes Troll Hunters for the BBC in which he joins YouTuber Em Ford to unpick the psychology of an internet troll and lays down the law to Britain's worst online offenders (Chalkboard TV), and Sex, Lies & Online Affairs for Discovery in which David uncovers the background to the hack of high-profile adultery website, Ashley Madison (Mentorn TV). As a print and online journalist David has contributed to titles including The Metro, International Business Times, Wired, Computer Weekly, TechRadar, CNET and Computing where he was consulting editor. A professional member of the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, David’s career as a technologist saw him work at the sharp end of the IT industry with blue-chips and start-ups alike. His client-list includes IBM, Thomson Reuters, Cable & Wireless, ING, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Boots, Royal & Sun Alliance, Bank of Tokyo and both central and local government. David has been a trusted face and voice of brands as diverse as Adobe, SAP, Audi, Kaspersky Lab, Asus, O2, Qualcomm, Peugeot and the Met Office. He is an experienced event host and moderator, chairing live panels and debates for BCS, London Tech Entrepreneurs Week, British American Business, IT Leaders’ Forum, RE.WORK Future Technology Summit, Meet the Future and the Open Innovations Forum in Moscow. Since 2012 David has produced, written and presented shows for the Hub and Connect Theatres at the Gadget Show Live at the Birmingham NEC, and he has clocked up hundreds of hours of live broadcasting with Silverstream TV reporting from events such as The Photography Show, CPhI India, Helitech International, and CPhI Worldwide.
Since 2010 Peter has been Managing Editor of Spend Matters UK/Europe, read by thousands of procurement professionals every day. He is also involved with Public Spend Forum, an initiative aimed at improving public sector procurement globally. He gained an MA in Mathematics and Management Sciences from Cambridge University, then joined the Mars Group before becoming Procurement Director for Dun & Bradstreet Europe, the Department of Social Security, and the NatWest Group.
He is a Fellow and was 2003 President of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, and has served as a non-executive director of two large public sector organizations and a growing private firm. He also lectures on the University of Birmingham MBA course, and his first co-authored book, “Buying Professional Services”, was published by the Economist Books in June 2010.
Andrew is the leader of the procurement practice at Edbury Daley. His core strength is mid to senior level appointments in the procurement profession and he is particularly active in the growing Procurement Technology market.
His clients include the leading solution providers, their corporate customers and consultancies specialising in procurement led transformation programmes and the deployment of spend management and data analytics tools.
Andrew’s career in Executive Recruitment started when he joined The PSD Group in 1995. In 1998 he was asked to take responsibility for launching the new Purchasing & Supply Chain division and has specialised in procurement ever since. Andrew was educated at William Hulme’s Grammar School in Manchester before graduating from the University of Sheffield with an honours degree in Economics in 1993. Outside of work he is a devoted father to his two daughters and a keen golfer.
Andrea has 19 years of experience in technology and has dedicated the last 8 of them to Purchase to Pay. She is an expert in clearly articulating the value of having a strong P2P, AP and Invoice Processing strategy in place and has an in-depth understanding of the technology needed to support that. In her current role as Head of Global Presales, Andrea is driving the global strategy at Basware and is focused on supporting our customers to define, achieve and exceed their goals.
Andrew Dos Santos has over 13 years’ Purchase-to-Pay experience developed in hands-on roles with organisations that span a variety of industry sectors, including FMCG, Retail, Distribution, and Community Services. Over these years, Andrew has helped organisations across the globe advance their Purchase to Pay operations and master technology from within to deliver rewarding operational outcomes. Today, Andrew leads Basware’s Business Consulting practice, which continues to develop new ways to deliver value to Basware customers through effective solutions and management of change.
Louis has spent the last 25 years working in a variety sales and marketing leadership roles across both B2C and B2B organisations in financial services, travel and, latterly, technology companies. Over the last decade, he has led strategy, sales and marketing across the UK and Ireland for Acxiom Corporation, SAP, SAS Software and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Now, in his role as Country Manager for the UK and Ireland, he has responsibility for all marketing, sales and delivery activities and the overall performance of the UK and Ireland businesses, where his focus is on driving software revenues and customer satisfaction across all industries served by Basware. Louis is a regular guest speaker at the London School of Economics, where he regularly lectures around the use of analytics and technology in business. He also speaks at various other industry events, has been a regular judge for the B2B Marketing Awards and is a Chartered Marketer.
Tanja Rauniaho-Mitchell is the Senior Product Marketing Manager for Basware Network receiving services and Accounts Payable Automation. Tanja has over 15 years of experience from tech companies, both from global and regional roles, in both large corporations as well as startups. Her experiences span across marketing strategy, product marketing, digital marketing, campaign program management and marketing communications.
Borja is a business consultant, improvement driver and a stakeholder manager professional with over 8 years experience focusing on Business Processes, Policies and People. Borja has been at Basware for over 2 years with a deep knowledge of purchase to pay processes. He also holds a PhD in Public International Law & International Relations and a degree in Communications from the Complutense University (Madrid).
Brendan Blok is a Global Business Advisor at Basware. With 7 years of industry experience, Brendan helps companies transform their accounts payable departments with digital solutions and expertise to create more efficient, streamline business processes. He excels in navigating customers through the implementation process, applying change management best practices and delivering results to their business. Since joining Basware, Brendan’s mission has been to push automation further to create a touchless invoice process for customers and empower them with unparalleled visibility and control over their operations – globally and locally.
